KODAKAN PARA   കൊടകൻപാ

THE LAND OF THE BIG STONE

Located in the upper part of the Thillenkery valley, and surrounded by wild forest, Kodakan Para  is a haven of peace and tranquility.

Kannur and Calicut international airports are at a comfortable driving distance, and  the commercial areas of the nearby cities of Iritty and Mattanur offer all kinds of services and shopping.

The 3 acre property with over one hundred trees, coconut, black pepper, cashew nuts and areca nut trees, has three buildings. The main house which consists of the common living and dining areas, some guest rooms, treatment rooms, office and pharmacy. And  “Shobanam” an open structure dedicated to Yoga, meditation and other personal practices, outdoor treatments, gatherings and celebrations. A smaller building “Garden Suites” is in final stages of construction and those guest rooms will be ready very soon.

The buildings are product of our own design and development. Built in classic Kerala style with an internal courtyard that separates the sleeping areas from the rest,  for comfort and tranquility.

The common areas, with open roof style, the courtyard and great verandahs for relaxation and entertainment.

Only 6 double bedrooms for a more intimate environment, and they are comfortably appointed, light and airy, with forest views, fresh linens,  moderns en-suite bathrooms, WI-FI and air conditioning.

The treatment rooms are well equipped for different therapies, but also designed and decorated to ensure confort and enjoyment.

Within Kodakan Para and the adjacent the family fields our farming produces enough so that we are 80% self sufficient in organic/ecological food products. It means that most fruit, vegetables, spices, milk products and eggs that we bring to your table is of our own production or from local farmers.

Our herbal garden consists of different plants and other medicinal herbs for use in our beauty and treatment products, our kitchen, and to produce your bathroom gels and shampoos.

Our commitment with nature is such that it begun with the construction of the building. We chose to use recycled materials whenever possible. And the very few trees that had to be removed to make space for the buildings were either reused to build furniture, for the construction or replanted.
